After such a long time of planning and actually not doing anything, I’ve finally finished the command center! I was going for minimal and simple and I nailed it using strips of leather I had left from a previous project and some nails.
Who would have thought a simple box can keep those tiny little things in place??! Ms. S loves playing with sensory boxes but OMG, the mess!!! It used to drive me crazy!
I've been seeing these leather pulls all over Pinterest and I just had to do it. Initially, I made my 11x11 cube boxes from H&M into 5.5x11 boxes. But I felt it was too plain and the girls were having a hard time pulling it out from the shelves. I got myself some leather strips, hardware and...
On an autumn day, the LO and I would have been painting leaves. Not today because its winter and there's not a lot of leaves laying around. So instead, we colored rocks!
Here she is gathering her rocks (with the Sunshine all covered with chalk!):
This Thanksgiving, I am introducing a new tradition to the LO.My personal belief is that children remember routine and structure and I want to start a Thanksgiving book that my girls will eventually do every year with the family.I want this book to teach the LO and her sister about gratitude and being thankful for God's blessings.
Is this not the cutest idea ever? I saw this on pinterest and I just had to do it. The LO has been working on using scissors for a while now and she is learning how to close and open.
A firehouse station for choice time??! Ooh the kids love love it!! June is our community helpers month and I try to turn our pretend play centers to something really fun.
I love playing sensory boxes with the LO. It's simple to make, super engaging and provides a number of learning opportunities. For this sensory box, I have uncooked elbow pasta, but you can use anything... sand, salt, pompoms, etc. Whatever you like really.
I think I might gotten carried away with this whole 'letting the LO give out valentines'... I had to make one for kisses. And these are much so much easier to do.
Can I just say that washi tape is the next best thing to post-its notes? If you ever run out of wrapping paper, you can use washi tape on craft paper (or any plain paper) with a little imagination!
This a very simple and inexpensive class cooking activity for young children. I cannot afford to buy each of my kids a gingerbread house kit so I had to be creative on this one.
The LO has a new spot! She has her own little nook tucked in our bedroom. It has a mattress on the floor, "Baba" the bear and some books. To complete the space, I decorated the wall behind it with houses using washi tape. Yes! washi tape!
